Sodium formate, HCOONa, is the sodium salt of formic acid, HCOOH. It usually appears as a white deliquescent powder. Sodium formate is a white crystalline powder with water absorbing performance and slight formic acid odor, soluble in water glycerol, sightly soluble in ethano, not soluble in ether. The application of sodium formate is as following:
