Application of nano titanium diboride in superfine surface processing

The application of nanomaterials in surface engineering is mostly to stabilize the nanoparticle dispersion in the organic medium. For example, the workpiece is ground and the antifriction material is dispersed in the lubricating oil in an appropriate manner. The ultrafine polishing liquid is nanometer SiO2, nanometer. Lubricants for nanoparticles such as Al2O3, nano-MoS2, nano-Cr2o3, and nano-diamonds. It has been found that nano-diamond nano-balls and super-hard properties make nano-lubrication in the friction process, and also have the effect of polishing the surface of the friction pair to improve the surface finish of the material, thereby obtaining an ultra-smooth surface with excellent performance. However, due to the high hardness of the diamond, the magnetic head gold wire is easily thrown in the hard disk head polishing to make the magnetic head scrap.
Our company adopts self propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) and fractional purification technology to prepare TiB2 nanopowder with average particle size of 20nm. After surface modification, it is stably dispersed in light mineral oil. The nano polishing liquid is initially applied to the ultra-fine polishing of the hard disk head, which can reduce the surface roughness of the computer head after polishing to below 0.04 nm, and obtain a high-precision and ultra-smooth magnetic head surface, and at the same time eliminate the nano-diamond magnetic head polishing liquid and easily throw the magnetic head gold. The common defects of the wire greatly reduce the waste rate of the magnetic head. The price of the nano TiB2 hard disk head polishing liquid developed by our company is only 1/5 of that of the nano diamond head polishing liquid, which has obvious competitiveness.
The chemically pure titanium powder and the boron powder are uniformly mixed at a stoichiometric ratio of 1:2, mixed and pressed into a blank, and the sample is placed in a 0.5 MPa, filled with Ar gas to protect the self-propagating reaction chamber, and the tungsten wire ring is used to ignite one end. The reaction temperature is sharply increased (2000-3000degree), and the chemical reaction is aggravated. The reaction process is completed in a dozen seconds, and the reaction product is subjected to a certain treatment to obtain TiB2 powder having an average particle diameter of 500 nm, and ultrafine grinding. TiB2 powder can be obtained by gravity fractionation purification. The sample was microscopically analyzed by transmission electron microscopy.
The nano TiB2 powder synthesized by high-temperature self-propagation reaction was surface-modified, and a dispersion stabilizer, a pH adjuster and a light mineral oil were sequentially added, and the nano-TiB2 powder was stably dispersed in mineral oil by ultrasonic mechanical stirring to prepare a suspension. That is, nano TiB2 polishing solution.
